In your case I would recommend you contact your surgeon, as it depends on what the baby had, etc. The age of the patient also plays a role. Generally a good anti-inflammatory, combined with a paracetamol based product will be sufficient. An examination is indicated to exclude possible secondary infection, if this has not already been dealt with.
