PSA Count

If the count is 26.3 does that mean you have cancer or can it be that maybe you have another infection?

Hallo Marinda
PSA can be elevated in prostate infections, inflammation, bruising (after physical prostate examination) or cancer. It is not diagnostic of cancer only. We do however use it to monitor disease activity in patients with diagnosed prostate cancer (diagnosed with biopsy)
Cancer is diagnosed with combination of PSA, sonar, physical rectal examination, and biopsy if a nodule is felt.
