Problem with period

I recently had an urinal infection. I am also a diabetic, my blood sugar levels changed a lot these past 2 weeks. Can this affect my period being late?

Dear Worried

It is unusual and highly unlikely that blood sugar levels would alter menstrual pattern. The possibility of a pregnancy should seriously be considered and if this is negative then a gynaecological pelvic scan would be necessary to exclude a cyst in one of the ovaries.
