prevention injections

please explain how they work, when does the bleeding stop?

Progesterone only injections prevents pregnancy by preventing ovulation. Irregular, heavy or continuous bleeding can happen in the first few months but 55% of women stop menstruating after a year. Menstruation returns if you stop taking the injection. If the menstruation is really bad, talk to your doctor as he may need to add some esterogen for a while to reduce the bleeding
