Prem Baby

Dear Doc. Would like to find out which is the earliest (at what week) that a baby could be born without having any health or learning problems. Thank you

The chances of surviving if born under 26 weeks is quite low. After 28 weeks the chances are about 75%, but there is still a risk of breathing problems, other health problems and learning problems. The 'ólder'the baby is the smaller the risks are, so there are no absolutes. Above 34 weeks the chances of complications are small.

Best wishes
