pregnancy and hiv

Is it true that it is compulsory to have an hiv test when you are pregnant. If so is it everywhere that they do this or its just done in the UK. What happens if i am scared to know about my status

It is not compulsory. You can decline. There are, however, advantages to the baby as treatment can be given if you are positive.
