pregnancy

I am quite overweight and on nordette. Have heard that the pill is less effective when you overweight, is this true? I am paronoid about falling pregnant and insist that my husband uses a condom(even though I am on the pill) this is putting a strain on our marriage. Is it necessary to use two forms of contraception?
