PMS

hi,
i''m 36, not on the pill etc...
i get so down before my period, for days.
why is this, and can anything help?
i''m actually on an anti-depressant for a year now, but not due to pms. it isn''t helping my pms though.
so i''m just wondering - what causes pms lows in us?
thanks
