Pins &  Needles in hand

My girlfriend is 42 and lately has been getting a lot of pins &  needles in her right hand, it seems worse in the mornings when she wakes up. The hand also sometimes has a numb feeling.
Any ideas what could be causing this?

Thanks

Hallo Ken
This is often caused by a nerve being pinched in the wrist area ( carpal tunnel syndrome ) She can try anti-inflammatory medication, physiotherapy but often a small operation to relieve the pressure on the nerve is necessary.
