Pet Rat

Hi Doc,

I have a pet rat- are there any precautions I need to take with her? Does she need any shots or anything? I had a rat before and I never did anythings with him, except I tried to wash him once and after that his skin always had thick chunky blobs of oil on him. How do I avoid that with my new rat?

Dear Ratty

They do not need shots and you don't have to bath them.

I used to have rats. Never bathed them. They we always pretty clean though. I think they cleaned each other because they were always grooming each other. Its also better to keep 2 females because they are much sociable creatures.
