Pet Birds

Hi Cyberdoc

Is there any harm in us kissing our pet parrot?

I have heard you can catch a type of bronchitis from them or pick up parasites?

Obviously our pet is very healthy, treasured and cared for (impeccable living conditions) and lives mostly out of his cage as he goes everywhere with us but I suppose that doesn''t really matter?

Tx

The bronchitis occurs with exposure to dried feaces. This disease is common in pigeon farming. I do not see any health risk in kissing your parrot or a risk to develop bronchitis.
