Periods once a year

My sister is 19 year now. She only have her period once a year. She started being sexual active at the beggining of this year. When she was 12 years, her periods were normal. She started to have this problem when she was 16 year. Could it be lack of nutrition or something else. Please help.

If she is very thin, this could be the problem. It sounds like she is not ovulating and the reason for this need to be found. She should see a gynaecologist.

Best wishes
