Dear Louise
It depends on if his Parkinsons' is so bad that he can't dress, feed or bath himself. In that case, you should try getting him into a care centre or get him a full time carer to assist with daily tasks. They will gradually increase his medication to cope with the development of disease, and eventually he will not be able to live alone anymore.
