Pap and internal exam

Hi Doc
Last week I had a pap test. My doc then did an internal and pressed on my stomach. What was she looking for? Could it be cysts? Many thanks

Hallo Rose
We call this a bimanual examination - we feel for growths on the uterus and ovaria and also feel the size of the uterus. We also look for tenderness and check whether the uterus is lying in the right position (i.e. not retroverted)
