Painful lump - scrotum

Hey Doc

Next to my right testicle is a soft lump that is painful to touch.
I heard that a cancer lump doesn''t hurt. Is that correct?
What could this be? Its just the right testicle.

In general cancer will not be painful. It is however, of utmost importance to consult an urologist for an examination and ultrasound of the scrotum. A painful lump can be due to infection of the structures surrounding the testis. You will need treatment and therefore, it is therefore, wise to consult an urologist as soon as possible.
