pain in front of neck

hello

im female, i know females dont actually have adams apples, but sometimes i get these really terrible sharp pains in the front of my neck by that tiny cartilage bump thing, or just under it. do you know what could possibly be causing these pains? it doesnt happen very often, and doesnt last for more than say 30seconds, but when it does happen its extremely sharp and painful. any suggestions please?

You could have a problem with your thyroid.
