Dear mel
The ovulation time period from the 6th to the 10th is extremely wide and non specific. In cases where fertility is strongly desired, i would recommend you try to predict ovulation accurately. This is particularly important since the process of egg release allows only a 24hr fertilization period i.e the egg only survives for a period of 24hrs and if it does not fertilize in this time period, the egg will simply degenerate, hence in the fertility treatment plan we try to predict ovulation with in one day, therefore we would use ovulation prediction kits, which is a urine testing kit such as clear plan. These kits are obtained over the counter at most pharmacies and are very simple to use and cost effective. Usually from the time you have a positive ovulation pick up a pregnancy test would be positive after 14days.
