Dear Anonymous
Your son weighs 2x more than he should at the age of 11 years (the normal average weight for 11-year-old boys is 45 kg). It is essential that you help him to change his eating habits and get him to be more active. Please for the child's sake take him to a clinical dietitian (visit the Association for Dietetics in SA Website at: and click on "Find a Dietitian" to find a dietitian in your area), who will assess his situation and help you to get the right treatment for him. If he does not lose weight he will develop illnesses like diabetes and high blood pressure even although he is young.
Take your son to a dietitian ASAP
