outer ear infection

Hi

i went to the doc with what he said was an outer ear infection and he prescribed eardrops and oral antibiotics, i tried the eardrops first to see if they helped, and they did , the inflamation went down, and pain went away bu now still about a week later my ear still seems to be sounding like there is an echo and a small amount of ringing, should i take the antibiotics?

Antibiotics is not always necessary for ear infections, as many heal by itself. If the ear is not painful and you are not feverish, antibiotics are probably not needed anymore. It is best to let your doctor have another look. You may just now have some fluid in the middle ear causing the echo and ringing.
