Hi Shelley

A bitch can be in heat on average for 21 days. It appears that you bitch is probably ending her proestrus stage of heat (lasts between 3-17 days) which is the 2nd of 4 stages of the normal canine cycle(anestrus is the 1st stage). The 3nd stage is oestrus (lasts between 3-21 days) and the discharge will usually change from bright red to pink and then to a clearer discharge - this is usually the stage that the female is most receptive to the males. The 4rd and final stage is dioestrus (lasts for 60 days) and at this stage the female is going out of heat.

So the discharge is normal.

If you have any problems please contact your local veterinary practice.

Kind regards

Angus Campbell

Dog''s are generally on heat for 3 weeks, so this is quite normal.

Shelly, 2 weeks does sound quite a long time. Do you intend breeding with her? If not please consider having her spayed.
