Obsesiewe eter

Hallo Dok

Todat ek so naar is. As ek later beter voel eet ek net weer, want more, MORE sal dit beter wees. My BMI is 24. Enige raad?

Dankie!

Sounds like what people often call "comfort eating", when someone gets in the unhelpful habit of eating when they get upset for any reason, and so as to feel better, and there are often specific types of food they choose for such feasts. But one of the first things you can do about this is not to have any of these bad snacks at hand, at home or in your desk. If you dont have all those bars of chocolate, you cant eat them. Rather keep more dissppointing but healthy snacks like a carton of salad, for those times. IF that's all you have to eat, that's all you will eat.
And yes, a psychologist offering CBT ( Cognitive-behaviour Therapy ) can help a lot, for you to change your habits, both to stop these unhelpful habits, and to learn more pleasant and healthy ways of limiting and responding to stress
