Home > Experts > Question Search health advice Find an answer Question Posted by: Anon | 2012/06/25 Q.NPR - Learnerships In March my sister responded to an advert in the Star workplace where Rand Water was running a graduate development programme. She emailed her CV on the same day she saw the advert (15 days before the deadline). She has set up her email account such that when someone opens the email, she is notified. Anyway, last week she got a notification that her email was " deleted without being read" . Why would a big company like Rand Water advertise and not bother opening the emails? I am sooo angry.. i am trying to contact them but the number I am giving just rings, no one is answering. Just needed to vent. 4 Pin It user comments Posted by: Amina | 2012/07/17 , The right to swing my fist ends where the other man''s nose begins.'' Rights must apply to evneroye in the same sense at the same time. So rights must therefore be limited to claims of freedom to do anything which does not violate the freedoms of others. This requires recognizing, respecting and abiding by anyone else''s wishes to be left alone whenever he wants, and his wishes to be free to do anything which doesn''t violate others. This is why no one can claim a right'' to interfere with your life in any way without your explicit, personally-given consent for a specified purpose. There can be no such thing as a right'' for anyone (or any group) to mess with you whenever he wants (or whenever they want) since it obviously isn''t applying to YOU in the same sense at the same time.If Healthcare were a right, it would automatically necessitate the violation of another''s rights. That being the case, again I say, Healthcare is not a right. And as it isn''t a right, it means that Obamacare is nothing more than a giving of entitlements to some, at the expense of others. In short, redistribution of wealth.Reply Reply to Amina Posted by: Anon | 2012/06/26 I have spoken to someone there who said I must send her an email. I have done that. I am hoping that what you ladies are saying is true in this case. My sister has got 3 degrees (one with distinction) and she has not been able to secure any form of employment, she has even gone to an extend of searching for voluntary work but no one is willing to give her that either. She has never worked in her life. She is my only sister and so when she is sad, I am sad too. Reply to Anon Posted by: Anon | 2012/06/25 I''m going to echo what R has said. It''s possible that the email is not deleted. the company I work for has a jobs email then when applications arrive they get forwarded to the relevant department and sometimes the original email sends a delete notification, so we also get complaints about deleting emails without reading and it''s not even the case. Reply to Anon Posted by: R | 2012/06/25 Don''t know if this is the case here, but we placed an advert for a receptionist last year. We supplied a fax number, and faxes started coming in immediately, non-stop. Within 2 days we had a stack of CV''s about a meter high. If we gave an email the responses might have even been quicker and too much to handle. Then on the other hand our email system enables us to forward mails without opening it. So our general email address gets emails that get forwarded based on subject, and then when you delete the original mail it sends a delete notification. Reply to R Want to comment?
