Nose bleeds

Hi doc. Is there any specific reason one experiences nose bleeds? I have had one today after quite some time, so its not a common problem or anything. I was just wondering the reasons generally?

Thanks

Hallo Joe
The blood vessels of the nasal septum lies very close to the surface and scratching or rubbing, nose drop use, very dry air, allergies or bleeding tendencies can cause nose bleeds. The best way to treat this is to to put pressure on the nose by clamping the nostrils together for a minute or so.
