Nippel with burning sensation

Hi, I have been experiencing a burning sensation in my right nipple for the past few weeks. It is not constant, it comes and goes and usually only in the late afternoon. The nipple itself does not feel warm to the touch but it has a burning feeling. It is also slightly darker than the other. I had a breast reduction about 11 years ago. Do you have any idea what might cause such a burning pain.
