Neurofibroma on 9yr old tendon in hand

My 9yr old daughter has a lump on her hand which moves as her finger moves, the GP said it is a Neurofibroma on the tendon and surgery is the only option - who should do the surgery - Orthopaedic surgeon or neurologist?? What should we expect??
She is in pain! Please help
