Neck hurts when taking deep breaths

Hi,

I was sick on saturday. I threw up. Now when I take a deep breath I get bad pain in my neck / right shoulder blade area.

Is it possible that I could have hurt muscles when I threw up? When do you think it should get better?

Hallo John
You may have a muscle spasm but it is difficult to guess how long it will take to recover. You may need to see your doctor for a prescription for muscle relaxants, to check that there is not something else underlying and referral to a physiotherapist may be needed.
