Dear Mike
The pain is probably caused by inflammation so the diet would not improve the pain, but she needs to eat a low fat, low fibre, milk free diet with more proteien during an acute flare up. She needs to get anti-inflammatory medication for the pain if she is not using it already - something like sulfasalasine, asacol, cortisone or immune suppressants. Sometimes antibiotics is needed.
