Must I go for a mammogram

Hi Doc

I am a 46 year old gay woman. I have never used any form of contraceptive and I do not have a history of breast cancer in my family. Do you think it is necessary to do a mammogram at this stage. What would you suggest? Thanks.

It is very important to have a mammogram done every five years and I do suggest a consultation with a gynaecologist for a papsmear and an ultrasound.

I would suggest you have a routine check up with your gynae and he will advise if it''s necessary to have the mammogram.
