Mumps

Hi

Im a 28yr old lady &  in Dec 08 I was diagnosed with mumps &  I would like to know why do adults get mumps and do they heal completely or do they somehow resurface.

Mumps is caused by a virus. If you did not have mumps as a child, or did not have a vaccination, you can develop mumps at any age. One can also get bacterial infection of the salivary gland that can look like mumps but usually only develops at one side and not both.
