Metabolism

Hi There

Is there a sure fire way to kick start ones metabolism after it has reached a grinding halt (apart from drugs). I am about 10kgs over weight and have no metabolism to talk about!!! Taking 30 minutes a day to excercise is hardly an option based on work commitments and safety issues. Are there foods or OTC type non addictive remedies to give ones metablisom a bit of a push?

Thanks

Dear Anon
The sure fire way to kick start your metabolism is to do at least 30 min of exercise a day which is perfectly plausible if you buy a skipping rope and start skipping in the safety of your own home whenever you get a few minutes (say 15 min in the morning and 15 min in the evening). This should be possible even for the busiest person. You know and state that drugs are harmful, and so are the OTC products. Despite the fact that they are all advertised as 'safe, natural and herbal' they contain potent plant extracts that can cause harmful side-effects as serious as any caused by pharmaceutical grade drugs. So stick to your diet and add the exercise which will kick start your metabolism again. It's safe, cheap and won't cause addiction (the worst side-effect of most of the OTC slimming pills).
