Menstruation Query

My daughter is due to come on at the same time as their school trip. The trip involves sleeping overnight in the bush and she doesn''t want to go if she''s bleeding for obvious reasons. Is she too young to ask the doctor for something to postpone the period? (12 yrs)

How long has she been having periods? She could go on the Pill for a month or two, but at her age it is probably best not to interfere with nature.

Best wishes
