Menstruation and Ovulation

Hi Dr
Please can you help me. I would like to know if it is true that your period always startes 14 days after you ovulate regardless of how many days your cycle is. In other words if I have a 36 day cycle, I should ovulate around day 22 and not in the middle. I thought ovulation was always the half way mark.
Thank you for the clarification.

Ovulation is only on Day 14 if your cycle is 28 days. For a 36 day cycle you would ovulate on Day 22. This is a bit long though, and may mean that you do not ovulate.

Best wishes
