Menopausal ?

Dear GynaeDoc,
I am 35 years old, I am showing most of the menopause symptoms such as hot flushes, moodyness, increased libido, headaches, increased menstrual cycles, and so on... What I would like to know, is that I am suffering from extreme pain in the lower abdomen. I have undergone a sonar, but they picked up nothing. Am I just being a hypercondriac or could something be wrong. The pain some times (Not only when having my periods) are so severe that I can at tmes hardy walk. Is there something I can do or take, as strong pain killers don' t help much?

Your symptoms are not really menopausal. If you are having more periods than usual, this may be a hormonal problem and needs investigation. Your pain could be endometriosis and I would suggest that you discuss laparoscopy with your gynaecologist.

Best wishes
