Male breasts

My husband has enlarged breasts, one or two of his brothers has this too. Is there any reason for concern? he has always had them. Is it normal that they would get bigger if he puts on weight? What can be done to confirm that it is not a health risk and which type of dr should he see? If he wants thm removed does he go straight to a plastic surgeon? He is otherwise healthy except for hereditary HBP which is under control with medication. Does the larger breasts not indicate a possible hormonal problem? if so what symptoms should he look out for?

Men also have breast tissue and some men may have bigger breasts than others. Gaining weight will increase the size. Liver disease, kidney failure, thyroid problems and low testosterone may cause growth of breasts in men. The best doctor to see would be a surgeon if he considers removing the breast tissue.
