Malaria meds options for impromptu Moz trip

Hello

I am arranging a surprise trip to Mozambique (Barra, Inhambane) for my fiance and myself. Problem is, seems most/all malaria prevention medication needs to be taken a few days prior to departure, are there any alternatives that would not need me to spoil the surprise?

Thank you
Dave

Dear Dave,
2 options open both have to be taken day before departure.
1]Malanil . Daily and for 7 days after departure from malaria area.
2]Doxycycline. Daily and for 28 days after leaving area.
Malani more expensive option.
Remember Tabard lotion for dusk to dawn protection ande light weight long sleeves and pants to reduce exposed skin areas!
Enjoy.
Pete
