Hallo Konrad
It is difficult to say - it depends on how bad other organs like kidneys are affected - every year 20-25% of patients with severe (cerebral malaria) die. It depends on how many parasites are in the blood, how many blood cells are infected and break down, and how quickly one can restore the circulation to the affected organs. Hope your family member or friend will be ok?
