lump on the Kidney

THe doc found a lump on my husbands kidney when a sonar was done. How often would that be dangerous as in cancer? i am worried about it should i be?

It is mostly likely to be a kidney cyst which is harmless - but he will ask to do a biopsy if on the sonar it seems to be a tumour ( irregular and solid)
