Lumbar fusions versus unfit for work

My Lumbar spine is fused from L2 - S1.
Is there a limit of levels fused and can i apply for a medical board
from work.Constant back pain and spasms.

There is not a limit of levels fused - the decision of which vertebrae to fuse will depend on your back problem.
You can apply for a disability pension - usually they give you forms that your orthopedic surgeon will need to complete. See http://www.haemophilia.org.za/HemPens.htm
