long term post splenectomy immune problems

I have staff member who is suffering from onoing multiple viral infections which he has been told is related to the fact he had a splenectomy some years ago. He has been told to get a vaccination?

Vaccines should include for pneumococcal infections, with boosters every five to 10 years as dictated by levels of antibody titres; and for H influenzae type B . Others recommended are meningococcal serogroup C conjugated vaccine and annual influenza vaccination.
