A lletz is performed when there are abnormal cells detected on teh cervix. It is an electrified wire loop that they use to glide over the cervix (performs the same function as ''a hot knife through butter''). This removes the abnormal cells cortorising the cervix. It is not painful at all and is a in out procedure in hospital. One is not allowed to bath for at least 6 weeks after the procedure as this leads to infections - you are only allowed to shower!
