Leg cold and sore

Dear Doc

I recently noticed that my little girl is starting to limp in her left behind leg. And when we touch it, it is extremely cold. We can press hard on the leg without her crying or anything. Is there anything that can cause this. She can''t jump on the furniture anymore as her leg is too sore.

She is a dobermann pinscher.

Hi Louisa

There can be many causes as to why she is limping with her left hind. Check the whole leg for swellings/cuts - check the pad of the legs to look for foreign objects glass/thorns. There can also be muscular/ligament/tendon and orthropedic reason for the lameness. If there is no improvement it maybe important to take her to the vet and get a general anasthetic/X-ray to check for hip problems/stifle problems/bone problems.
