Lab Results

Hi Doc,

As a patient, what is my legal right to request my lab results direct from the pathology lab (Ampath) ?

You can ask for a copy from the lab or from the doctor that requested them - you are entitled to a copy. (as you paid for the test!)

Yes, it is your legal right to ask for them if you have paid your account in full. They normally don' t give it to patients because most patients are not trained to interpret the results and it can cause panic for the patient.
