Our expert says:
It is by difficult to say what the lesion is without having a visual appraisal of the problem. You could ask your vet to do an impression smear of the lesion to identify what it is. If the mass is causing irritation then I might advise the client to remove the lesion under sedation and local anesthetic. Go on the advise of your vet and if the lesion is removed consider send it for histopathology to identify the nodule.
