knee replacement

My mother is about to undergo surgery for a total knee replacement. She is 72 years old and in good health except for her knee that''s now completely out of perposion. Are the chances of complications like bleeding, infection etc. higher because of her age?

Yes, she is at risk for complications due to the operation or anaesthesia. Her doctors will definately take her age into account. Feel free to ask the surgeon questions about the risks involved.
