juice alternative

Dear dietdoc,

is there anything in plain soda water thats problemmatic for small kids. (age 3 and up). I know i enjoy drinking pure fruit juice diluted with " fizzy water" . is that ok as a treat for small kids, as opposed to unhealthy cokes and fantas?

thanks!

Dear TP
Plain soda water is water to which some carbon dioxide has been added to make it fizzy. It should not have any negative effects on children or adults and it contains no kJ. You can certainly give the children pure fruit juice diluted with soda water and use it yourself to dilute high-kJ drinks like spirits or even wine.
