Our expert says:
Joint stiffness and pain is often a sign of arthritis. There are more than one kind, the most common known is rheumatoid arthritis but it can also be caused by outo immune diseases ( the body makes antibodies against itself) or certain infections and even by some medications. Please see your doctor for x/rays and some blood tests to try an identify the cause, as this would influence the treatment needed. If it is rheumatoid arthritis, taking painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication is not enough, as one needs to prevent joint damage with immune suppressing medication.
