Jogging for weight loss

Is jogging really effective for weight loss? How often and how long should i jog to lose weight?

It would be, yes, but there are a few riders (the fine point). Any cardio activity burns calories - jogging burns about 1kCal per kilometer per kilogram. So if you weigh say 90kg, and you run 5km, then you burn 450 kCal. That translates to weight loss but ONLY IF your diet is also good. So it's really important to manage BOTH sides - what you burn is the jogging, what you put in is the diet.
