Hallo Ray
One may need to take medication for up to 4-6 weeks for a fungal infection to clear. The reason for this is that fungi makes "spores" which are like small seeds left in the skin, and if you stop too early, these spores germinate and start the infection all over again.

Ray, it should not go on for so long - I suggest you see a dermatologist that they can do a skin scraping and send to the lab to test - you may have something else or a resistant kind.

Doc has been treating this for about 9 months could it last this long or is it something else? If the medication is stopped it soon becomes much worse?
