It was in the miiddle of the hour

It was in the middle of the rush hour, when everybody was rushing to get to their homes. We set a classroom and there was about eight of us. Eight young lions. Yes thats what the ANCYL members are reffered to. There was great anxiety amongst us. We were curious regarding the status of the revolution. The school boycott was looming and we were waiting for the instruction from Oliver Thambo. And then came Zukile rushing into the gathering. Whats up comrade. Eissshhh maqabane the pigs has arrested Monwa. " A shortened name for Monwabisi"  What? We were all supprised but then we realised what we were dealing with. He was taken in and detained without charges. Zukile continues. Comrades Soweto has snizzed and the whole country has flue now. Really asked Mphumzi. Yes really comrades. Quickly we gathered the minutes of our meeting together with some material on Nelson Mandela and Oliver Thambo. All was secured and we headed to Langa to meet up with other comrades so that we can craft our position. We boarded the train without tickets and sang freedom songs. In Bontheuwel we were joined by other comrades from Heideveld, Matroosfontein and Bontheuwel. We continued with the songs and chants.

Nelson Mandela hayi ngubaba wethu, hayi, hayi
Oliver Thambo, hayi ngubaba wethu hayi hayi
Chris Hani, hayi ngugeneral hayi hayi
Lenja u Botha voetsek, voetsek voetsek
Thathi''sbamu bhaaaaa, bhaaaaa bhaaaa
Thathi''sbamu bhaaaaa bhaaaa bhaaaaa

Nelson Mandela hayi ngubaba wethu, hayi, hayi
Oliver Thambo, hayi ngubaba wethu hayi hayi
Chris Hani, hayi ngugeneral hayi hayi
Lenja u Malan voetsek, voetsek voetsek
Thathi''sbamu bhaaaaa, bhaaaaa bhaaaa
Thathi''sbamu bhaaaaa bhaaaa bhaaaaa

Halt comrades halt halt. Whe we came to the Langa station, the hippos were already scattered all over the place. There had been a minor uprising in the area ealier on. So we cleverly disembarked from the train and walked expeditiously through the township of Langa until we reached our deistination. There it was decided we will take whatever instruction that came from the ANC to further the objective of crippling the aparteheid minority regime. Already parts of Mitchellsplain was burning. It was the Missippissippi burning and the UDF kept the fire burning 24/7.

We are who we are through the struggle and we will never surrender our convictions. These are the true lines of our history and that precepitates the measure of our resolve to reprocure what was forcefully taken from us. Mayibuye.
