Issue?

Hi CS, I''ve got a question for you,.
Why do you think I never wear the pretty cloths and shoes and bags I buy... I have a cupboard full of new cloths etc that I always say I am going to wear but never do, its as if I feel I need to be a certain way or have a certain feeling to wear them, I just cannot bring myself to wear them and make them ugly instead I wear the same old cloths to work and even on weekends when I have nice things to wear, What is wrong with me?

Sounds like you have low self-esteem, and don't feel worthy of wearing the nice things you buy. Firstly, stop buying them for a while, and then see a counsellor to work on these issues, so you can enjoy the clothes you already have.
Maybe, also, you need some more special occasions that deserve the new clothes - a tiara does feel strange when you're sweeping the floor or doing the washing-up

My personal opinion is that to like buying pretty clothes does not necisarily mean you like to wear them.

It may sound odd but when my daughter was still living at home, I loved buying her pretty clothes and I always thought one day, I will spoil myself. When she lefthome I had some extra money and spent it on pretty clothes for myself.
I made the effort once or twice, but am back to my plain clothes.
I miss buying pretty clothes but I do not want them for myself. I am comfortable with what I wear.

I agree with Kasandra, it''s all about your comfort zone. I hate it when my clothes become old and shabby and resist buying new things because I just feel so comfortable in my old stuff. I think it may also be a self image thing - you don''t really think you are beautiful and deserving of having nice things. Try not wearing a whole new outfit, but just one new item at a time. Push your boundaries out a little at a time.

First of all there is nothing wrong with you. I have the same problem. I feel I want a new style then buy the clothes and are determined to wear it but then it ends up hanging in my closet.

It boils down to buy what you feel comfortable wearing. Stick with that or work on becoming more aware of your body imagine and take it from there.

You will go back to the clothes that you are comfortable with everytime.
